What Lance Armstrong Can Teach You About the Devil Card

Lance Armstrong and the Devil CardEvidently, Oprah just interviewed Lance Armstrong.  This interview is so hot that Oprah carried the footage back to Chicago with her on the plane for fear that any electronic transmission would be intercepted.

So what does the Devil card have to do with Lance Armstrong?

The Devil card has to do with our shadow, those things about ourselves that we don’t want to admit to and accept as part of ourselves.  When we say I could never do or say that, we are pointing to our shadow selves.

I haven’t seen the interview, but from what I’ve heard about it, Lance doesn’t quite own up to his steroid use 100%.  Nobody wants to be the guy who says I went after winning at all costs, even by the use of illegal drugs.

The Devil Card and The Shadow

The end justifies the means.  That’s the Devil Card.  Profit at any costs, it doesn’t matter if some employees die because of unsafe conditions, it doesn’t matter if we rape the earth to get the materials, what matters is the profit.  I discuss the Devil in depth in 2013 Tarot Card Predictions, which you can download for free.

Since this year is a 6 year (the Lovers) with the Shadow card of the Devil, I am not surprised that this interview took place.  We as a collective will be unearthing and dealing with our collective shadow all of this year and for as long as Pluto is in Capricorn (until 2020).

Now I definitely don’t want to place all the blame on Lance Armstrong.  Personally, I don’t find his use of steroids of that much consequence.  Steroid use was, and continues to be the dirty little secret of the competitive athletic world.  It’s just that he got caught.  Dirty little secrets are the realm of the Devil card.

The Devil Card, The Scapegoat, and Addiction

Lance got caught, and kind of long after, he became the scapegoat.  The scapegoat is part of the Devil card.  Lance had his medals taken away.  He was held up as a warning to all:  you don’t want to be that guy!  Even though we all are that guy in one form or another.

The United States has a problem of massive proportions with drug use.  Not just “street drugs” but alcohol and tobacco.  And those are nothing compared to the massive pool of abuse around prescription drugs.

The people abusing prescription drugs aren’t just junkie types.  Remember “Mother’s Little Helper,” by the Rolling Stones?  Since that song was written the pharmaceutical industry has mushroomed with a host of anti-depressant and other drugs that they are telling us to ask our doctor for.  But don’t become an addict, that would be bad.

We don’t want to face how we have given our power away.  That’s the Devil – the Devil made me do it, it wasn’t my choice.  When we feel we are powerless and/or have no choice, that’ the Devil card.  Addiction is well within the realm of the Devil card.

The Devil Card Meaning

So it’s time to face the music.  Where do you feel powerless and without choice?  What is it about yourself that is so “bad” that you don’t want to admit to it?  So bad that you keep it a secret?  What are you addicted to? food? reality TV? getting angry? kicking yourself in the head and calling yourself an idiot?

It’s time to face the Devil.
