Make your own Tarot spread

๐ŸŒ This secret easy button to make your own Tarot spread is rarely talked about–
But once you know how to create your own spread you’ll do it again and again.
๐ŸŒ

When I first started learning Tarot, I messed around with cryptic, complicated spreads with lots of cards.

๐Ÿ‘‰Don’t make your own Tarot spread like this

Check out this spread from Mary K. Greer in the book Tarot for Yourself.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Mary K. Greer, but really?

Card 5 – the opposition to the opposition???

I don’t know what anyone is supposed to do with these spread positions.

๐Ÿ‘‰Do this to make your own Tarot spread

Probably the most popular and versatile Tarot spread is the 3 card spread.

Certainly you have heard of it.

Past – Present – Future

Mind – Body – Spirit

Ask a question, and you get an answer from 3 different perspectives.

๐Ÿ‘‰Get creative with your spread

What’s more, you can “t-off” any of the first 3 spread positions, creating your own Tarot crossword puzzle.

To do this ask yourself who, what, where, when or how around any of the core 3 spread positions.

For example: in the present, what are my thoughts?

Or for example, in the future, who can help me?

Or in the case of the example above, in the future, what advice can help me?

What if there was a “thoughts” card above each of the cards past, present and future?

Sure that’s a lot of cards, but it’s very clear what each card indicates.

3 card spread for when questions

The 3 card spread works beautifully for when or timing questions.

Using a real life question: When will I find a house to buy?

The Now placement serves as an indicator for my current state, how I’m showing up in regards to the question. I will use this “now” card to look for a link or a match to each of the 3 timing cards of April, May, June.

Now – The Moon – Uncertainty abounds! Yes, I am feeling very uncertain about finding a house. Also, my feelings fluctuate frequently, just like the moon. Not to mention the full moon is Saturday, that could be an indication as well.

April – 6 of wands – ah, the success card. This makes it likely that I could find a house this month.

May – Judgement – Not a good match for finding a house. I could speculate on just what the Judgement card means, but that’s outside of the scope of this demonstration.

June – The Sun -The Sun matches the Moon just because of the Sun and the Moon as the pair of luminaries. Also the Sun is a card of fulfillment and in general a very positive card. Lastly, the two people looking into each other’s eyes is also a good indication of finding “the one”.

Conclusion, if I don’t find one in April, I will surely find one in June. Time will tell!

If you want another example of a 3 card reading in relation to real estate, here’s a video I made a while back.
