How to Perform a Tarot Card Spell with the Empress Card
Make an Altar
Make a small altar, or a large one if you like. It can be in a comfy spot in your home, or perhaps in your garden.
Place an Empress card on your altar along with something that symbolizes what you are asking the Empress to help you achieve or obtain.
For example, a few coins if it’s money, a small doll if it’s a baby, some beautiful flowers if it’s a garden.
Don’t forget to make an offering to the Empress.
Empress offerings can include:
- wine, something bubbly perhaps?
- chocolate (she LOVES) chocolate
- milk or cream
- honey
- items made of copper
- green stones and turquoise
- patchouli or sandalwood incense
- combine chocolate, honey and cream into a sweet and wonderful hot chocolate. I’ve had great luck with this offering!
Get clear on what you want to ask of the Empress
Just getting to know her is perfectly acceptable!
You may want to write down your request or spell on a piece of paper. If not, just get it crystal clear in your head.
If you do write it down, or even if you don’t, making it poetic and descriptive is a plus. After all, you’re not ordering a burger at the drive through.

Perform the spell on a Friday (Venus’s day)
On a Friday, approach the altar, light a candle and some incense.
For a candle, why not make a Tarot card candle? Simply glue an image of the Empress card onto a 7 day candle and decorate as you like. You can even glue your spell or request on the back side of the candle.
